The 4TH Annual Gutierrez Scholarship Dance was held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 and was a successful event. The event which was held at the Pecan Ball Room at the Civic Center featured Special Guest “Happy the Comedian” as Master of Ceremonies and a performance by Raulito & Grupo Remedio. A surprise performance by Ram Herrera, “The Most Wanted Man” also relightes the crowd. These performances were in memory of Rualito’s Brother and boyhood friend of Ram Herrera, Emilio Navaira “El Rey del Rodeo”. In total, the DRHCC gave out five scholarships of $1,000.00 and five memorial scholarships in the amount of $500.00 totaling more then $7,000.00 in scholarshpips. This event was made possible also by the numerous donations and by the people and businesses who purchased tables and tickets for this event. All proceeds from this event go to the Scholarship fund to assist students.
