My professional background include a Master in Public Relations from the Universidad De Alcala De Henares and a Bachelor degree in International Business and Marketing from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. My studies provide a solid foundation for this position. I plan to use the skills and knowledge I’ve acquired for the betterment of our business community in Del Rio. Currently, I am the Branch Supervisor for the Walmart and Plaza del Sol Mall IBC branches. I am very excited and enthused to serve as your Director in this position.

My name is Juan Gallegos and I was born and raised in Del Rio, TX. I am a proud husband to Dariela Gallegos and a proud father of three sons. After having graduated from Del Rio High School in 1998, I earned my Associates in Management from Southwest Texas Junior College in 2006, followed by a Bachelor’s of Science in Management from Park University in 2013. Professionally, I have worked in the financial industry with both Border Federal Credit Union and The Bank and Trust. I have also worked with the City of Del Rio as Assistant Tax Assessor/Collector from 2008 through 2013 and as Utility Billing Supervisor from 2013 through 2014. In January 2015, I began a new venture at Sul Ross Rio Grande Junior College as a Business Advisor for the Small Business Development Center. Currently at this position, I help in assisting prospective entrepreneurs who are in the planning phases of starting their own businesses. I am here to help from square one, including but not limited to research, business plans, all the way to a client’s grand opening! As Director of Economic Development & Small Business for the Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, I bring with me an array of experience from financial, to management, to business experience. I have had the opportunity to meet with a large portion of the Del Rio business population, have reached out to many people at our events, and continue to grow my clientele list. I was born in Del Rio but was raised in the “big city” of Mexico D.F. I moved back to Del Rio seven years ago after I graduated from the Tecnologico de Monterrey with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology. I also bring with me a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Healthcare Management from the University of Texas at Tyler, a Long Term Care Administration Degree from Midland College and a combined six years of experience in the health care industry. Four years ago I had the privilege of becoming the administrator for Val Verde Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. As the Director of Legislative and Government Affairs and with the guidance of Ms. Otila Gonzalez, I plan to present and share with you important government news and events that will have an important impact on our community. As a business director myself, I encourage you to be a part of the DRHCC and to attend the many events that our team puts together. I know that it will be a great opportunity to network with other business and meet great people. My name is Hatali Breckenridge and I am excited and humbled to be chosen as the new Director of Health Issues for the Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I was born and raised in Del Rio. I am passionate about our city and the health of our community. For the past three years, I have had the privilege of working for Val Verde Regional Medical Center as the Marketing Service Coordinator where I work with the community on health issues. I am a graduate of the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor degree in Communications. I am currently working on my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and International Management. As the Director of Health Issues for DRHCC, I plan to present health related issues to our community and bring awareness of the different healthcare services available locally. I look forward to meeting current and new members of DRHCC and learning more from our veteran board members who possess a wealth of knowledge and experience. This year I’ve taken on a new venture as Director of Membership and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of the Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I bring with me a Bachelor’s Degree of Communication from Texas A&M University in College Station (Whoop!), and three years banking experience in Del Rio. Prior to banking I worked positions in both sales and marketing. I have a passion for writing and public relations and plan to use any and all of my past experience to further grow this organization. Judith has a wealth of administrative experience having experience in working with the Del Rio Housing Authority. In addition, her customer service skills were developed in the years she managed the Photo Department at WalMart. She has a creative background that will be very useful in our weekly email blasts and newsletters. She is also the proud parent of Lizbeth Montalvo. Judith was a tremendous help at the recent TAMACC Business Expo and Convention at the Austin Airport Hilton. She will be introduced at the August Membership meeting being hosted by the Consulado de Guatemala. We will also have an informal meet and greet in the coming weeks. Public Relations is a method of two way communication and differs from Public Information, which is one way communication. Public Relations focuses on building relationships through goodwill, being interactive, and remembering that good content builds the face of an organization. My name is Magdaelena (Maggie) Roman and I am your new Public Relations Director. I was born and raised in this beautiful town of Del Rio. I am a local Allstate Insurance Agency owner (Roman Insurance Agency). As an Allstate Agent in Del Rio, I know many local families. My knowledge and understanding of the people in this community help me provide customers with an outstanding level of service. The Allstate Corporation is the third largest personal lines insurer in the United States. I am also a mother of two handsome boys (Jesse and Trey) and one beautiful daughter (Summer Jo). Am married to Joe I. Roman Jr. Together we do a juggling act between parenting and our professional careers. I am very pleased to accept the position as Public Affairs with DRHCC and will be working with you through the newsletter, ribbon cuttings, membership and more. I am looking forward and eager to make a positive contribution. I hope to bring new energy and ambition, making this a year for continued growth for the Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Garcia, P.E., and a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas with a current registration. I am a graduate of Texas A&I University of Kingsville, Texas (now known as Texas A&M at Kingsville) and have over 44 years experience as an Engineer. I am also a Veteran having served in the US Army Reserves from 1958 to 1962 and served active duty during Vietnam Era in the US Air Force 1962 to 1966. I retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers and a few years back, I retired from the City of Del Rio from the position of City Engineer and Public Works Director. It was my pleasure to have served with the City under the direction of three different Mayors. I have much experience in the public arena and am a Director with the Border Federal Credit Union and Chairman of the Val Verde Appraisal District Appeals Review Board. High on my agenda for legislative affairs are 1. Creation of a Groundwater Conservation District 2. Working with legislators for a 4-lane Highway from Del Rio to Uvalde, 3. Re-establishment of an SS Office in Del Rio and 4. Other matters affecting our City and Region. I will strive to serve all in this capacity as Vice Chair in this important position.
