 Despite the rainy weather and storm sirens in the background, a wonderful turnout was present to vote on by-law revisions and elect new Board of Directors for DRHCC. While the votes were being tallied, everyone was treated to a special performance by the Varsity Cheerleaders under the direction Andres Vasquez, Head Cheerleader. HEB brought a wonderful array of edible delights which included sandwich trays, vegetable trays and other goodies. Silver Eagle Distributors provided spirited drinks to the thirsty crowd. Dave Galindo of Del Rio Buzz delighted the crowd by taking dozens of beautiful photos. It was a busy agenda with Las Vegas Raffle Winners being drawn: $1000 Value 1st Prize to Gaby Ramirez, Holiday Inn Express Stay 2nd Prize in Eagle Pass to Juan Mendoza and $100 Visa Gift Card 3rd Prize to Isaul Garcia. DRHCC thanks all who purchased tickets in support of our projects and events (operations). Carmen Gutierrez in her last official acts as President passed the torch (chancla) to the incoming President Otila Gonzalez and presided over the swearing in ceremony. Carmen also gave a State of the DRHCC Annual Report outlining the various projects completing and pending completion, highlighting the purchase of three billboards to promote tourism. Finance Director Connie Mendoza and Cultural Events Director Michelle Guajardo presented the outgoing officers with beautiful engraved CROSS pens from Robert’s Jewelers. All members received a DRHCC designed key ring supporting Rams and Queens Athletics. DRHCC thanks all for participating!
