SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS

The Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DRHCC) has an important role of supporting and promoting local businesses. The most important role is the networking opportunities. We organize different events for members to know each other. More specifically, our breakfast networks, which provide our valuable members the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and build relationships with each other.
Our organization also takes the role of advocacy and representation. DRHCC serves as a voice to advocate the interest and concerns of local businesses. DRHCC Board of Directors often engage with policymakers, government officials and other community leaders to ensure that welfare and a positive economic impact regarding regulations and policies.
One of the major roles we take is marketing and promotion. Activities include the participation in community events, festivals, doing marketing on social media for our members and their products or services, the DRHCC website and also the monthly newsletters. DRHCC is available for our members for any promotion they need.
DRHCC also has the responsibility to foster collaboration between businesses and other agencies. By us facilitating connections, we promote collective growth and innovation within our community. We are a one-stop resource guide for the growth and success of local businesses.
When you shop at a local and small businesses, the money stays in our local economy, which helps create more job opportunities and it is also a contribution to the overall economic growth of Del Rio. By shopping local, you are supporting local families and even friends and family members. It creates a sense of belonging, a true sense of community and strengthens the bonds within our city.
Small Business Month is celebrated in the month of May. It was created by the Small Business Administration (S.B.A.) to recognize small local businesses for their courage, dedication and hard work. According to the S.B.A., a 2020 study shoed that there are 31.7 million small businesses in the United States, making the small businesses the backbone of our country’s economy.
