We invite you all to our “Connie Mendoza Memorial Luncheon”. It will be held on April 25, 2018 at the Ramada Grand Ballroom from 11AM to 1 PM. All proceeds will go to our nonprofit chamber. This event is in honor of Ms. Maria Consuelo “Connie” Mendoza. Connie was the Finance Director of the Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce before her untimely death. She had a dream of making an event to show appreciation to the Administrative Assistants who play an important role in the success of the businesses in Del Rio. This year we have made her dream into a reality. During the luncheon we will present the Administrative Professional Employee of the Year award. The nomination form can be filled out electronically on our website or on a paper copy and turn it in to the office. In addition to the luncheon, we will also have a free networking and a workshop for the community’s business owners “Let’s Play with a Plan”. It will be presented by the speaker Gilbert Granados who is a certified John Maxwell Team member at the Texas Community Bank at 6PM. On March 8th, Texas Community Bank hosted our Monthly Membership meeting.
Ms. Dora Alcala secretary of DRHCC introduced our guest speaker Chris Ryan, Amistad National Recreation Area Superintendent. The National Park Service has been temporarily managing the Diablo East and Rough Canyon Marinas until they get someone to manage them. Ryan talked about the process that the National Park Service is going through to get someone to lease the marinas. He emphasized that it is their hope that an interested party will step up to manage one or both of the marinas, which is necessary if they are going to keep them. |
