![]() Hector Ramirez, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), DRHCC guest speaker noted resources are available – free of charge—to assist anyone, even non-profit organizations in developing what some perceive as an intimidating task; creating a business plan. A business plan is important because it helps the owner set clear goals and gives investors, banks, suppliers, and partners the information they need about the company. Ramirez outlined the parts of the business plan and also why each is important and a manageable task when working with the SBDC. Business counseling includes loan assistance, business start up, accounting records, tax planning, restructuring debt, export/import assistance and other aspects of owning a business or managing a non-profit organization. Ramirez noted the no cost, extensive, one-on-one, long term professional business advising and other specialized and personalized services provided by the SBDC helps foster local and regional economic development through job creation and retention.
