The Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (DRHCC) main purpose is to promote the interest of small businesses, including minority and women-owned enterprises, and minority and women professionals and entrepreneurs. None of us could have ever imagined the scenarios we are facing today due to COVID-19. Everyone had to adapt to a temporary new way of life. We have seen progress in business reopening since the issuance of Executive Orders to open Texas for business by Texas Governor Abbott. Our community has come together to overcome many obstacles and we should continue to work together and support our local businesses.
Small businesses key factor for success and profitability is cash flow. That is why it is important for our money to be spent in our local businesses. There are many opportunities for grants, loans and other financial assistance that small businesses can seek. The U.S. Small Business Administration contains financial resource such as the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL), up to $10,000 of economic relief. The SBA Paycheck Protection Program, a forgivable loan designed to provide a direct incentive to keep their workers on payroll. For further SBA information, please visit www.sba.gov. Also visit www.gov.texas.gov/business, or inquire with local financial institutions regarding lending opportunities. To our members, please know that we are here to help you. I encourage our members to take advantage of our electronic media such as our website and Facebook, as well as our weekly email blast and monthly newsletters to promote your business. To our future members, you are joining an organization with individuals committed to make a difference and truly care about making a positive impact in our community. As Director of Economic Development & Small Business, please know that DRHCC will continue working proactively to support the business community. Isidro Valdez Fernandez Director of Eco.
