DRHCC ANNUAL MEETING 2020

The Del Rio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting Thursday evening, October 8, 2020.  The group met at Ramada Inn at 6:00 P.M., observing social distance and wearing face covers.  Outgoing President Sergio Diaz gave the welcome and made final remarks about a year filled with challenges for everybody as a result of the Covid-19 virus. Dr. Maria G Ramirez gave the invocation and Mrs Carmen Gutierrez recognized special guests newly appointed Consul Paloma Villasenor Vargas who was accompanied by Jose Luis Diaz Miron Hinojosa and Gabriel Barrios.  Consul Vargas started her assignment as of September 29, 2020.
Following the business part of the meeting, Vice president Dora G. Alcala. conducted the election of officers and directors who will serve for a two year term, Isidro Valdez was elected President, Carlos Ayala will be the new Public Relations Director, Ernestina Tina Martinez will serve as Director of Education, and Joel Langton is the new Director of Legislative Government Affairs. The new slate of officers was sworn in by the Honorable Judge Tony Faz.
At the conclusion of all business, meeting concluded with the drawing for door prizes.
